Tanzstudio Wulff Basel poster by MaxBill 1931

Tanzstudio Wulff was created by the dancer Kathe Wulff and Bill’s poster prints the name of each ballet in different font and different colours.

Wulff’s Tanzstudio showcased modern dance which allowed for a group of dancers to move in a choreographed manner together while still maintaining degrees of personal expression and individuality.

Max Bill had returned to Switzerland in 1929 after spending several years studying at the bauhaus and is one of the most highly regarded European  artists who was also a master of typography , architecture and photography.
